XAML Spy is being retired. As of today XAML Spy licenses can no longer be purchased or renewed. It has been five years since the last public update of XAML Spy, it’s time to formally pull the plug.
What happened? With the demise of Silverlight, XAML Spy moved to add support for Xamarin Android and iOS apps. Along with support for good old WPF and Windows 10 UWP, XAML Spy covered all XAML based client frameworks available back in 2016.
Announcing the January 2016 Update (version 3.0.2) of XAML Spy 3. This is the first non-preview release of XAML Spy 3, and includes a number of fixes and new features.
XAML Spy Express XAML Spy Express, the free edition of XAML Spy, has been activated in this release. When no (valid) license is registered, XAML Spy will automatically switch to the Express edition. The Express edition provides a limited, but useful set of features that allow you to spy on apps for free.
The January 2016 Update of XAML Spy 2 (version 2.10.0) is now available. This is a maintenance release and includes a set of fixes for issues reported by customers. For details see the XAML Spy 2 release notes.

Announcing the second preview release of XAML Spy 3, which includes a wide variety of fixes and improvements. No major new features have been added to this second preview release. This update comes with internal changes which lay the groundwork for upcoming new features.
XAML Spy 3 Preview 2 is set to expire on January 20, 2016. This update will stop functioning after this date, unless you have a valid license key registered.
XAML Spy 3 includes the XAML Spy API, a library for querying and automating apps. The XAML Spy API works great with interactive REPLs such as the Roslyn powered REPL available in Visual Studio 2015 Update 1. With just a few lines of code you get access to a wealth of information of any connected app.

First Floor Software is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the July 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.8.0). This version adds full support for Windows 10 Universal apps (UWP) that are created with the RTM version of the Windows 10 SDK. Universal apps can run on any Windows device, including phone, tablet, laptop, Xbox, etc.
By adding support for Windows 10 Universal apps, XAML Spy now supports a whopping total of 13(!
The May 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.7.1) is now available. This minor release includes a fix for a bug where the XAML generated by XAML Spy when enabled in Visual Studio, causes other XAML processors to work incorrectly. The fix ensures the XML start tags are now at the same position as the original source XAML.
